SEIU Minnesota Members Get Ready For Precinct Caucuses

St. Paul (February 1 , 2010) — The SEIU Minnesota State Council released this statement from State Council officers Julie Schnell, Javier Morillo, and Carol Nieters.

“SEIU members are energized and we are making a major push to get members to caucus night.

Our endorsement is grassroots member led and we are building up to launch a large member engagement campaign that will be hundreds of boots on the ground for our endorsed candidate.

We have been polling our members.  Candidates have met with our members in forums, small group discussions, and member meetings.

A group of politically active members who participate in SEIU's grassroots core team recently hosted a gubernatorial forum last Wednesday to give an opportunity for members to meet the gubernatorial candidates before Tuesday's caucus night and to ask their questions.   Part of the day included caucus training for over 150 of our politically active members.

We are thrilled at the number of members committed to attending their precinct caucuses.   We look forward to hearing back from our members after caucus night.”
